This is our team logo created for the scavenger hunt.

Bellow are my team member and I at some of our favorite sculptures on GVSU’s Allendale campus

The Little Mac. Bridge: Located on GVSU’s Allendale campus the little Mac. bridge is an confer GVSU because it crosses the Valley of Grand Valley State University
The Bifilar Pendulum: This pendulum statue made by Dale Eldred on GVSU’s Allendale Campus is a Grand Valley Landmark that gained popularity with Miley Cyrus’s song “Wrecking Ball”.

This is a well know sculpture for most GVSU students. One end of the sculpture is completed and the other is not and it is said that it is okay to walk through from unfinished to finished but if you walk from finished to unfinished you will not graduate on time.
This beautiful Fountain can be found outside of the student services building at GVSU’s Allendale Campus.

The next part of the scavenger hunt was recreating three different memes assigned by our professor.

The next task was to create a brief video on our favorite place on campus. For my team member and I the library was our favorite place because of its beautiful studying atmosphere.

After taking picture in front of popular GVSU sculptures with our team members we were asked to find our personal favorite sculpture.

Here is an awkward photo of me next to my favorite sculpture “Daffodil” by David Gibson.

My favorite outdoor art sculpture on the gvsu Allendale campus is the massive steel daffodil. There is nothing not to love about this piece, it glows with the hope of spring even when we have feet of snow at gvsu. This piece speaks to me because I love daffodils and in the small town I am from my mother and grandmother always take spring cuttings of tulips and daffodils to deliver to the people they appreciate.

Our next task was to Find the annual report for GVSU’s foundation and answer a few questions about it.

the infographic of the GVSU Foundation 2016 annual Report can be found under the section titled financial report.

It is interesting to see how donations have spiked and dropped, it makes me wonder if it depends only on the individual givers at the time or if it is generally affected by the economy. Based off the inographic it is shoking to see how much money is given to grand valley each year and that it is documented by the millons. The year when the most was given was in 2010 with 28.4 million dollars given! I wonder why this year the giving has dropped significantly to 13.3 million yet new buildings are being built each semester.

Our final task was to do some internet research on our favorite Meme.

grumpy cat meme from a a grumpy cat compilation video found at:

I love the grumpy cat meme because while most consider me to be very upbeat and optimistic there are some days that everybody just needs to be a grumpy cat. This always makes me laugh because that is that poor cats face and the things it says are a unique kind of dry humor that is funny to me. I think memes are important to internet and social cultue because they get people excited to be apart of something. Every one can be apart of a meme craze just like we are doing for this exam. Memes give people an escape from reality and a laught to help their days go more smoothly. In terms of internet culture it is incredible how viral memes can go to the point where even people that do not consider themselves in the loop know of these classic memes.

The final for CAP 115 was a great experience it helped my team members and I escape from our usual finals week studying while helping us recap on some of the very valuable skills we acquired from CAP 115.
